since the other thread (How to disable the welcome screen?) has been "Answered" starting a new one:

 

after launching PS gets stuck at the welcome screen. i can't scroll down to tell it not to show.. BECAUSE IT's FROZEN. there's not content in it and i can't quit PS unless i go to task manager.

 

the only way i can get it to work is to disable network access, launch PS, close the welcome screen, and then re-enable network access.

i checked my firewall and host file, tried multiple dns servers, double checked iptables on my router, nothing works.

all other CC programs launch fine, including the welcome screens - which i was able to turn off.

the "Do Not Show..." should not be a part of the web content as, you see now, causes a problem when it won't load and no way to turn it off. at least make it an option in the prefs b/c i can hit ctrl+k before the welcome screen comes up to change some things.

UPDATE:  Just off the phone with Adobe for 2+ hours.  Tried everything -- no resolution.  I have now uninstalled 8.1, and reverted back to installing 8.0.1 (or, 8.0, then the 8.0.1 patch) so that I can at least function again.  Hopefully Adobe will rectify all these 8.1 issues with a quick 8.1.1 patch.  Holy hell.

Forgot to reply, Peter. I did a reinstall and now everything is working. Sometimes best to just start fresh .

Hi, I am using a MacBook Pro with OS X v10.9.5 and Adobe Reader XI v11.0.9 (this is the version you pay a few $ for and it gives you the right to convert PDF files to Word etc)

I posted to the iOS forum thinking (somewhat absent mindedly!) it was OS X !  I have also posted the question on the general Reader forum.

I downloaded the Adobe Illustrator Draw App. Did a test run on the features. Meaning i just doodled. Then i went to export However only two choices show. A copy of image to Creative Cloud and one other. There is no way to put actual file with layers so i can open it in illustrator on desktop.

 

i deleted the app and re- downloaded the app. But still only 2 options show, which do not help.

 

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!!!

 

Also, if can, please ket me know if this app is only for CC files on desktop?

i have CS6 programs on desktop not CC.

There's no need to get a Mac, a PC is just as capable; all this talk to the contrary is just marketing B.S.  That said, in order to handle large files like that you need a very capable machine, and that's not cheap, regardless of what OS you use.

 

As JJ noted, getting a laptop that will replace a desktop will probably still cost more than £1000.  I just went through this a year ago, as I also frequently work on large files and my Vaio laptop was choking on them.  I built a desktop for around $1200, with the latest i7, decent GPU, SSD primary and scratch, HDD storage, water cooled, etc.  It's night and day difference from my laptop, which to be fair was a little old.  But there's no way I could have purchased a laptop with similar performance specs for anywhere near that cost.  High end laptops might have come down in cost a little bit over the past year, but I'm guessing a machine like that is still well over $2000.

Creating simple animations for e-cards and the new update definitely messed with timing of objects, and is creating erroneous instances of symbols.

 

Still can load the original version and plays fine, but just loading the version in the _updated folder that was created when original version was opened after update is messed up.

 

Really disappointed with this update, I really dislike doing my work twice.

I only have one adobe program .. Adobe Reader XI .. where I can convert my files to Microsoft so I can edit.  Ive already mentioned that, I don’t know what else to say .. if theres a more specific way I can tell you, please let me know.

That's the problem Stan.  Every time someones "likes" a comment of mine, the same recurring message keeps informing me of the same, unchanging information - that I have 725 member points, needing 1 point to get the the next level.

 

Are they like supermarket loyalty points?  In which case, do I have to go to a check-out and ask the cashier to exchange them for points?

Last time it happened, I restart AI and it fixed. But this time I even restart my computer and still not working.

Bonjour,

 

Lorsque je veux insérer un texte sur un document dans photoshop, tout devient noir et impossible d'insérer le texte.

 

J'avais déjà eu le même problème avec le version d'évaluation, c'est pour cela que j'avais acheté la suite Adobe mais j'ai toujours ce même problème maintenant!!!

 

Que puis-je faire, c'est assez urgent?

Just solved it, all i did was set a align to pixel doc , and set the artboard reference point position to left upper corner, all pages exported with no alien extra pixel, i guess the "bug" was in the fractions made in x and y when the artboard reference point is set to middle point. you can see it happening, if you make a box same size the artboard, just toggle the swap fill and stroke, it moves on the screen!

Just to add to the list, where is the scale tool? Also, are we now limited to landscape orientation?
